  • Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You generally lay a wager (a dollar is the normal amount) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though huge jackpots like this are very tempting, they are also very difficult to win. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, imagine this- you wager twenty hands and make the side wager every time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds employing that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the overall house advantage from twopercent with one zero wheel to a whopping five% in American. The single number bet has just a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers instead which have a much smaller casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you bet on it, the casino edge can be a huge 25%. Yes, that is not a typo. Due to the huge set of numbers you must select, it isn’t recommended to bet on Keno to often. A couple of times for entertainment, perhaps. But don’t spend all your cash on it or you’ll quickly find yourself beaten.
